Uxsg announces 2014 conference dates
Local user experience community, User Experience Singapore (UXSG), announced today that its eagerly anticipated annual conference will be taking place from 1–3 October this year.
UXSG Conference 2014, now in its second edition, has been upsized to become a three-day event. It expects to attract over 400 local and foreign participants from a wide ranging field of professions and industries – a 50% increase from last year’s headcount.

In conjunction with the news of the conference dates, a limited early release of Ultra Excited & Super Garang (UXSGarang) tickets launches today for UXSG’s community members. UXSGarang tickets are so-called because all other details about the conference are still being finalised and will only be released at a later date. “Garang” is a local colloquial word meaning “gung-ho”.

“Selling tickets before unveiling the conference theme, speakers, workshops and venue is certainly not the usual way of doing things,” said marketing lead Ruth Ho. “You’d have to be pretty garang and UX-hungry to spend S$700 on a ticket without knowing who or what the line-up consists of.”

“In response to the increasing number of queries we were getting, we decided to announce the dates first to allow those interested to mark their calendars,” continued Ruth. “The pre-launch buzz is distinct and we’re keen to see how that excitement converts to ticket sales and votes of confidence in the team.”

Available for a limited time only, UXSGarang tickets cost S$700 (excl. GST) and accord the bearer special privileges such as an exclusively-designed t-shirt, a special pass to beat the coffee queue and priority workshop selection, amongst other perks.
