Lekshmy is an innovation design consultant whose specialist skills include: collaborative research, strategic thinking and cross-disciplinary facilitation to support clients in using design to achieve successful health care innovation strategies aligned with people’s needs.
A strong thread through her work is the ability to communicate credibly across disciplines: encouraging innovation teams to challenge conventional thinking, bringing the voices of patients, their families and care providers into the innovation process in inspiring ways and applying design thinking as a strategic tool to unlock creativity in client organisations.
Her professional experience in health care includes: developing personal healthcare concept prototypes to demonstrate the benefits of new medical technologies to prevent and manage cardiovascular disease, collaborating with hospital leadership teams to assess current patient care experiences in acute cardiology care settings, listening to cancer patients and their families to understand how to humanize diagnosis and treatment pathways and working with psycho-social and clinical care teams to find ways to deliver holistic care from hospital to home.
Prior to founding fuelfor, Lekshmy enjoyed a 10-year career at Philips Design in London, New York and Eindhoven. As Innovation Director of the global healthcare team she created and led programs to generate and translate insights into new value propositions for Philips Healthcare supporting their Care Cycle strategy and Ambient Experience business. She learnt how to use design to shape and embed an innovation process and mindset within a leading global healthcare business.
She holds a Master of Engineering degree from Cambridge University and a Master of Arts from the Royal College of Art in London.
